About Us

Automation Software for Professional Service Firms.

RAAIX is a software studio based in Malmesbury, UK. We build automation tools for creative and professional service firms who spend too much time on admin and not enough time on their actual work.

We started RAAIX because we kept seeing the same pattern across industries: talented professionals drowning in administrative tasks. Chasing invoices. Updating spreadsheets. Copying information between apps. Sending the same follow-up emails over and over.

These aren't creative problems. They're process problems. And process problems can be automated.

Our first product, DesBu, is a complete operating system for design-build professionals. It connects clients, projects, tasks, and invoicing in one place — eliminating the constant context-switching between disconnected tools.

We also specialize in bespoke automation projects. This is where we see the most impact. One piece of software might work brilliantly for one company, but completely miss the mark for another — even in the same industry. Your workflow is unique. Your tools should be too. If you're spending hours every week on repetitive tasks that are specific to how your business operates, we build custom automation that fits exactly how you work.

What We Believe

Your tools should fit your workflow.

Not the other way around. Generic software forces you to bend your process to fit their templates. We build software that matches how you actually work — not how some product manager thinks you should work.

Automation should be invisible.

The best automation works quietly in the background. You shouldn't need to watch dashboards or check logs. You should just notice that you have more time and less stress.

Transparency matters.

We don't hide behind black-box AI or 'magic' algorithms. Every automation we build has visible logic you can understand, trace, and trust. If something goes wrong, you can see exactly what happened and why.

Our Approach

We don't build generic software.

Generic tools try to work for everyone. That means they work perfectly for no one. You end up with software that's 80% right for your workflow — and you spend your time working around the 20% that doesn't fit.

This is why bespoke automation is so valuable. One company's perfect solution is another company's nightmare. Even businesses in the same industry have fundamentally different processes, priorities, and pain points. Your workflow is shaped by your clients, your team structure, your service offerings, and a dozen other factors unique to you.

We build purpose-built tools for specific workflows. DesBu is designed specifically for design-build professionals. It assumes you're managing clients, running projects through design and build phases, and invoicing based on completed work. It doesn't try to be a general-purpose project management tool. It tries to be exactly right for one specific workflow.

For custom automation projects, we start with your workflow, not our features. We map your actual process: Where does information flow? What decisions need to be made? What steps are repetitive? What causes delays? Then we build automation that fits that process exactly.

We automate the mechanical, preserve the creative.

Automation should handle the repetitive tasks — data entry, notifications, document generation, status updates. The things that don't require judgment.

Humans should handle the decisions — pricing, client communication, strategic choices, creative work. The things that do require judgment. Good automation knows the difference.

Who's Behind RAAIX
Mark Scott, Founder of RAAIX

Mark Scott.

Founder

RAAIX was founded by Mark Scott, a designer and maker who spent over two decades watching professionals fight their tools instead of doing their work.

Mark's journey began in 2002 as a designer and maker. Throughout his career working with various businesses, he noticed a recurring pattern: incredibly talented people spending 30-40% of their time on administrative tasks that could be automated.

But it wasn't just the time waste that struck him. It was the frustration. The constant context-switching. The anxiety about what might fall through the cracks. The resignation that "this is just how it is."

Coming from a design and making background gave Mark a unique perspective on these problems. Designers understand workflows. Makers understand systems. The combination meant seeing not just what was broken, but how it could be fixed.

Throughout his career, Mark always believed companies could do better with their organization and communication systems. He was determined to make the organizational and communication side of business work better. Information lived in silos. Tools didn't talk to each other. Simple tasks required navigating through multiple applications.

The problem wasn't lack of software. Most businesses had too much software — a dozen different apps that didn't communicate. Project management in SharePoint or Monday or Notion. Finances in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or FreshBooks. Files in Google Drive, OneDrive, or Box. Communications scattered across email, Teams, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messages, and phone calls.

Every day started with context-switching between tools. Every project required manually copying information from one system to another. Every invoice meant re-entering data that already existed somewhere else.

The tools weren't the problem. The disconnection was the problem.

After over two decades of seeing this pattern repeat across different industries and company sizes, Mark founded RAAIX in 2026 to solve the problems he'd witnessed firsthand. The mission: build software that connects the pieces of your workflow that should already be connected. Software that eliminates the repetitive tasks that eat up your time. Software that lets you focus on the work you actually care about.

We're based in Malmesbury, UK, but we work with businesses across the UK and beyond.
